For the past few weeks we've been learning about the presidents, and my 6-year-old son wanted to be Abraham Lincoln for Halloween. (That costume was a lot harder to throw together than I expected, but we made it happen.)
It got me to thinking: What would Honest Abe think of our country today?
If you could spend a day with Abe Lincoln, what would you do? Where would you take him, what would you show him? What do you think his reaction would be?

My son went through a Teddy Roosevelt phase a few years back :)
Hmm, I'd probably spend the day listening and asking questions. There was a lot of division in the country at the time (like now) and I'd love to know what he thought of 1. that we have our first African American president, and 2. the time it took to get here.
I could probably think of more intelligent stuff if I'd had more sleep and a little less NyQuil ;)
I'd take him out for lunch to this great little Israeli cafe on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I'd make him try the Tabouleh.
Then, we'd go walking in Central Park and I'd ask him all kinds of questions about making hard decisions, persevering through dark times and courage.
