Retreating

Still coughing, still achy, and now falling behind on my word count...

But tonight I'm going to take some NyQuil and SLEEP. All night, hopefully. Because I am NOT spending the night at my house. The other day my husband, who has been out of town all week on business, suggested I take a writers retreat this weekend and spend the night at a hotel. I immediately went online and booked a non-refundable room.

So today after my son's soccer game, I packed my bags, stopped by a convenience store for some Twizzlers and a Snickers bar, then on to Starbucks for a cappuccino, and then drove by the hotel entrance not once, not twice, but three times before I finally got it right. Because that is what I do when I am trying to find a new place in the dark. And that is WITH a navigation device.

Anyway, here I am, and I've already written a thousand words and I'm still going strong. I might be in a bit of trouble though, because I got here at 6:15, and by 7:00 I had already eaten all the snacks.

I've never been especially good at pacing myself.

That is so cool that you had an evening for writing plus the peace and quiet can not be discounted.

We did the same thing last night. Nyquil and sleep. I hope you are feeling better.
