In case anyone needs further evidence that my life is completely lame, I thought I would point out that one if the most significant highlights of my week is trash day.
I'm not sure how we became so enthusiastic about garbage collection, but I actually avoid making any plans on Tuesday mornings, just so that we can be here when the trash truck rolls through the neighborhood.
Part of the appeal, I guess, is that our front yard is very shallow, so from the front windows we have a very close-up view of the truck's machinery picking up our garbage receptacle and emptying its contents into the truck.
Things really heat up around here every other Tuesday, when it's a recycling week.
