Women's Rights: Chapter Gazillion

I read something today that made me want to stand up and cheer.

You can read it here at one of my very favorite blogs, Mama's Cup.

Couldn't have possibly said it better myself. So, I won't try.

Hey, thanks for the link! It gets me all hot under the collar when high-profile women--or any woman, for that matter--are forced to undergo a form of scrutiny never visited upon their male counterparts. (Rememnber during the primaries when Hillary had to cry on national television to appear "human?")

It's time for the U.S. to realize that motherhood isn't a handicap, that women are effective leaders, and that we don't need to apologize for our chromosomes.

P.S. The list of countries that have--or have had--a female ruler is longer than the list of those that have not. Unfortunately, we're still on the short list.

Sorry for the typo; I had a 2 year-old on my lap. It's a good thing I wasn't doing anything important.

Hmmmm...a typo, huh? Meaghan, are you sure you're able to juggle family AND a blog?

You're right, Ruth. You're right. I guess it's time to tell my family that it's been fun but, I'm a Blogger, not a Mother. Way too much responsibility.

I think I'll run for office instead. After this motherhood gig, pushing around a few old guys in Washington just doesn't sound all that tough.
