How about, instead of arguing over whether mothers should stay home, work outside the home, work part time, or run away with the circus, we could just let every mom, and every family, do what works best for them?
Then, we could all go on about our lives, doing what works best for us. And maybe we could focus on more important things like education or poverty.
I know, I know, it'll never happen. Human nature and the media being what they are, it's not too hard to stoke the fires of the so-called "Mommy Wars." But I can dream, can't I?

Now it's my turn: AMEN!
(Though joining the circus does sound pretty fun...)
Excellent post. You're so right. We need to reach out to one another.
I love this post. I have had people tell me that it is just a selfish choice that I made to return to work. I think you have to do what works best for you.
Well I'm not a mom, but I'm a loyal reader. And I believe that we should let moms make the choice that's right for them. I believe that as women we should support each other married, single, with kids, without. And listen to each other--we've all got something to offer! Ruth keep up the good work.
